Mitch Brumwell is a seasoned commercial
real estate executive with over 15 years of direct experience
in the real estate securitization industry. Brumwell currently
serves as President of CMBS Workout Solutions, a trusted associate
and business development platform for Hart Advisors Group.
Brumwell teamed with Hart in 2011 after working together on
several successful modifications for borrowers.
Prior to forming CMBS Workout Solutions, Brumwell worked for
Maclean, VA based special servicer, JER Partners as an asset
manager. From 2009 until 2011, his responsibilities included
the management and disposition of a revolving $200 million
portfolio of performing and non-performing commercial real
estate loans on behalf of CMBS investors. He has specific
expertise working with office, retail, multi-family and industrial
properties across the United States with a focus on the upper-Midwest
and East Coast.
Brumwell previously served as fixed income commercial real
estate bond analyst in the Chicago office of Fitch Ratings.
While at Fitch, Brumwell was responsible for rating a portfolio
of over 50 multi-property fixed and floating rate CMBS trusts.
By working closely with investors, bankers, master and special
servicers, he provided detailed credit analysis and
rating of commercial real estate loans and credit opinions
to the market. Based on his commercial real estate and market
research, he was recognized for making timely and market moving
actions.
Brumwell began his career as an assistant state's attorney
in DuPage County and a commercial real estate research analyst
for Sears Roebuck & Co. After graduating law school and
passing the Illinois Bar, he accepted a position with Chicago
based LaSalle Bank/ABN-Amro's CMBS trust services group. At
ABN-Amro, Brumwell spent two years in commercial real estate
due diligence on all asset types as a securitization collateral
administrator. He was then promoted to Trust Officer and spent
three years acting as CMBS Trustee for securitization trusts
for LaSalle working closely with investment bankers, servicers,
special servicers and legal outside counsel. After another
promotion to Assistant Vice President, he successfully grew
commercial loan and asset repurchase facility business from
$2.5 million to $2.5 billion. In addition, Brumwell was responsible
for managing client relationships in the investment banking
industry.
Brumwell completed his undergraduate education at the University
of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and was a Zeke Giorgi Scholar
at Northern Illinois University College of Law. He is a member
of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and
the Chicago Bar Association. |
